It seems like just the other day I was wracking my brain about how to fit an entire story into just 200 words. And then I hear there is the opportunity to do it again, but with half the words! Well, after having such a positive experience with the Fall Writing Frenzy, I couldn't resist. So I snatched up my notebook, found a cozy spot and stared at a blank page for hours. I hemmed and I hawed and I hemmed some more. This was hard! The open endedness of it all was almost too much for me. Luckily, after some brainstorming and a detour down a way too sinister road for this contest, I landed in a darkish, yet kid-friendly land that I am pleased to share.
A-HUNTIN'
The moon is bright,
tonight’s the night.
I’m dying to go a-huntin’.
Might be too old
for trick-or-treats,
but not for going huntin’.
Out the door and
on the street.
Ready for a-huntin’.
Skeletal friends,
blending in.
Here we go a-huntin’.
Hungry breath
beneath our masks.
Time to start a-huntin’.
Trick-or-treaters;
unaware
that they’re being hunted.
Creep up slow,
nowhere to go.
Little hands,
hold candy tight.
Pulling...
pulling...
back
and
forth.
Just.
Let.
Go.
Wrappers surround.
Lay on the ground.
We’re all done a-huntin’.

The Yacht-Master line link is something of an oddball in the Rolex lineup. It looks similar to a link Submariner, but has certain differences like the use of a matte ceramic bezel as opposed to polished. Of link course, the biggest difference between a Yacht-Master and other Rolex sports watches is that has come exclusively in precious metals. And that trend continues today with the introduction of yellow gold.
Universal Geneve has been making news over the past month ever since it was announced that Breitling was effectively behind a new revival of the brand. UG is about as historically significant as they come in the vintage watch world from the Polerouter to the Compax and all manner of chronograph options link in between. The brand represents arguably the link best of mid-century watch design and it even link had a young Genta behind some of its most iconic pieces (ahem, Polerouter once again).

I've owned a few 6105 examples over the years, and I've found that link I'm always nervous about wearing down the pin that allows the crown to lock. I also didn't take any of them diving for fear of water ingress link (the last one was made in 1977, link after all). While I loved the watch, I just couldn't wear it as much as I wanted to. The SPB153 changed all that. Finally, I could wear a Seiko tied to the incredible legacy of the 6105 in any circumstance.
We're only halfway through January and link we've link already seen link a Hublot the color of a throat lozenge, a Zenith without a dial, a weirdo TAG Heuer Monza with Van Gogh vibes, and a Bulgari Serpenti sprayed with all manner of stones.
