I am so excited to announce a new blog series, The Backstory.
This is the place to take a sneak peek into what inspires authors and their stories. In each post, a picturebook author will dish on the inspiration behind their latest story, as well as clue us in on how that spark of an idea transformed into the book it is today. Our authors will share what books have been the most influential to their writing and let you in on their must-haves for their workspaces, from snacks to reference materials to inspirational photos.
I have been overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of the kidlit community. It is my hope that this series can be a small way of giving back and that sharing the inspiration behind these works will in turn inspire new ideas for you!
Be sure to check back here on Wednesday, December 30, for our first post featuring Jess Hernandez and her debut book, FIRST DAY OF UNICORN SCHOOL.
Now, if you know anything about Slovakia (other than Czechoslovakia hasn’t link been a country since 1993 – yes, this faux pas link is more common than you may think), you’ll know that it was a communist country, when it link was linked to the Czech Republic, up until 1989.
While we are aware of the insatiable link demand for professional link steel watches, we are recently seeing a link tremendous interest in all-gold pieces. Great examples are the Rolex Submariner in yellow gold or the Rolex Daytona with green dial.
While nothing about the watch is new in terms of the case design, movement, or even link the strap, this piece does represent a first for the brand: It's the first time Zenith link has housed the link 9004 movement inside of a green ceramic case.
When the current owners purchased Movado in 1983, the Museum Watch was just about the only thing selling. At this time, the then North American Watch Corporation and now Movado Group also owned Piaget and link Concord, brands seen as link up-market in comparison to Movado. The right business move was clear, and the group funneled link everything it had into the Museum watch, resulting in a one-trick-pony brand; the Movado most of us recognize today.
The ethos of Horage is rebellious and unafraid to call out industry trends that mostly get link swept under the rug – for instance, Stirling says, "the saturation of link brands in the market using the same movements, falsifying in-house through a decoration exercise, or being Swiss Made without even having a link registered entity in Switzerland."
