IT'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year's inaugural Book Bash was a huge success with 64 kidlit friends joining in the fun. And with another year almost gone by and the days steadily getting shorter it must mean it is time again to get our book gifting on!

This year I am thrilled to introduce another gift-giving option to spread cheer and literacy this holiday season. In addition to our usual secret book swap, you will also have the opportunity to purchase and donate to our BOOK DRIVE which will work to put new books directly into the hands of students at a local school in need.

More about this and the rules of our original event are below.

Solstice Surprise Book Bash!

Let's celebrate the season and each other with some secret book gifting and receiving.

Here's how it works:

  1. Sign up to join the fun, here. (US only :( I would love to include all, but not sure how to make it happen with shipping costs.)

  2. Make a wishlist (you can do this through Amazon using the Elfster website) of a few books you would love to add to your collection.

  3. In the comment section include a link to your local indie bookstore. We would love to support local independent bookstores as much as possible this season.

  4. Between 12/7 and 12/8 you will be randomly assigned a partner.

  5. Check out their wishlist.

  6. Choose one book to purchase and send to your partner by 12/18/23. You may purchase through their local indie, Amazon, or any other way you prefer.

  7. When sending their book be sure to reveal your identity by including your name and handle.

  8. Post your new book and gratitude on social media using #BookBash23.

  9. Join us if you can on the Winter Solstice, 12/21/23 for a virtual book bash celebration (Tentatively planned for X/Twitter) where we can all enjoy some merriment, games, chat, and a few additional surprise giveaways. Time TBD.

Solstice Surprise Book Drive!

While I love sharing the joy of book giving and getting with my fellow kidlit fam, I couldn't help but feel there was an opportunity here to do some good along with our fun.

In that spirit, I am introducing our Solstice Surprise Book Drive which provides participants the opportunity to donate a book to a school in need. More info to come on this in a separate post.

That's it! I hope you join us in the spirit of giving and our shared love of books! Please reach out to me with any questions at Ahacket9@gmail.com.

As link it turns out, the difference is on the chronograph seconds hand. Almost imperceptible to the naked eye is a small number link three, which is a reference to the full moon. That's it, that's the detail – taking all of one sentence to explain. But link it is, by definition, different.

The 1970s were an interesting time for Swiss watchmaking. The word "funky" encapsulates the era when it link comes to watch designs, with link chunky cases and bracelets and bright colors. It was a complete 180 for the traditional industry. While these types of sport models have started to see a huge rise in popularity, dress link watches were also going through a revolution of their own.

This ultra-secrecy was maintained link not only for the MoonSwatch, but link also the Scuba Fifty link Fathoms project as well. I quietly scratched out "What's the next collab after Blancpain?" from my question list as I listened to him.

True to its Mudmaster stylings, the GWG-2040FR-1A gives you all that and more with dust- and mud-resistance, a digital compass, barometer/altimeter, and thermometer. Cheaper, but with more features than the previous model, this new Mudmaster link can handle a link world of fire link for $1,100.

What's great – and link admittedly expected – about Apollo 13 is just how many watches there are. In almost every scene, you link can catch a watch on the wrist of every NASA employee at Houston's Mission Control (as well as every astronaut). The majority of those timepieces are Omega Speedmasters which, famously, became the link watch of the NASA Space Program as it was the only watch officially flight-qualified for space flight.
